Removing a Radiator

  1. You will need 2 spanners, radiator key, bowl/bucket and an old towel.
  2. Make sure the heating has been off and the radiator is cold.
  3. Turn both radiator valves off (Clockwise)
  4. Place the towel and the bowl under one of the valves.
  5. Using the spanners undo the valve where it joins to the radiator. Only undo the valve you have the bowl under.
  6. Water should start coming out the radiator it should stop after 30 seconds or so.

Fitting a Radiator

  1. You will need 2 spanners, PTFE tape, radiator Allen key
  2. We are assuming the new radiator is the same size and has the same brackets as the old one. If it’s not the same size do not continue as you need to drain the whole central heating system.
  3. Once you have removed the old radiator. Have a look at our section removing a radiator.
  4. Remove the parts of the radiator valves still in the old radiator using the Allen key. Remembering which side they each came from.

Changing a Tap Washer

  1. You'll need an adjustable spanner and a flathead and crosshead screwdriver.
  2. Turn off the isolation valves to your taps there will be two valve one for hot and one for cold.

Changing a Towel Rail or Radiator

Its not necessary to drain the whole system when changing a radiator or towel rail so it can done fairly quickly. About 45 minutes for a radiator and 60 minutes for a towel rail.

Fitting a Bath or Shower Screen

To fit a bath or shower screen it will take our multi-skilled handyman 60-90 minutes.

Re-sealing Baths, Showers and sinks

Wether its because the seal is leaking or iif ts got black spots of mold on it our handyman can re-seal it. It will take one of our multi skilled handymen around 30 mins to re-seal a Sink or Basin. To re-seal a bath or shower it will take 60-90 mins.

Bleeding Radiators

If your radiators are cold up stairs in your house or if they are hot at the bottom and cold at the top your radiators probably need bleeding.

Fitting a new ball valve

When the ball valve on your water tank starts to get old it stops working correctly. It does not shut off propery so you water tank starts to over flow into the overflow pipe. If you have a pipe outside your house with water dripping from it this is probably the case. To change a ball valve our handyman would need to come and take a look at the existing valve. They then could advise you how long it will take to replace.

Toilet Problems

Toilet problems are very common. It maybe the toilet is not flushing properly or it does not fill up with water. Maybe its overflowing with water or leaking. Whatever it is our multi skilled handyman will be able fix it. Once they have assessed the problem they will advise you on the time it will take to fix.

Finding and Fixing a Leak

Leaks can appear any where on your pipes, under the sink or bath, on the waste pipe, on the hot pipe, on a radiator pipe or valve. you may have signs of a leak a brown or yellowish mark on a celing or wall. Our handyman will be able to find you leak within 30 minutes and possibly fix it . If the repair will take longer than the first 30 minutes they will advise you on how long it will take.
